Between 14,000 and 35,000 million dollars today separate the fortunes of both tycoons, in favor of the Australian-born businessman.

The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, launched another round in his burlesque showdown against Amazon founder Jeff Bezos on Monday, mocking that his competitor no longer leads the list of the wealthiest people in the world.

«Listen and be open, but don’t let anyone tell you who you are. This was one of the many stories we were told of all the ways we were going to fail. Today, Amazon is one of the most successful companies in the world and has revolutionized two industries totally different, «Bezos had previously tweeted, in a motivational post, attaching a photo with a copy of Barron’s newspaper from March 1999 (five years after Amazon was founded).

To that Musk reacted briefly, in turn publishing an emoticon representing a silver medal, in an apparent allusion to the second place that Bezos occupies after him on the billionaire lists of Forbes magazine and the Bloomberg agency. Thus, according to the latest available data, these sources estimate Musk’s net worth at $ 203.5 billion and $ 224 billion, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Amazon founder’s net assets are valued at $ 189.5 billion by Forbes and $ 189 billion by Bloomberg.

On the other hand, the reference to a silver medal does not seem to be accidental, since Musk had already promised at the end of September to give it to Bezos along with a giant statue of the figure ‘2’.
