Yankees latest news and rumors | Joey Gallo continues with physical discomfort, Aaron Judge and more

Joey Gallo was again out of the New York Yankees lineup on Tuesday in the MLB.

The outfielder continues to experience discomfort in the groin. This ailment took him out of a game on April 30 at Kansas City and he was out until May 4 at Toronto. Gallo started in the first game of a doubleheader on May 8 and then again on May 9 against Texas.

Manager Aaron Boone said Gallo is «a little banged up» and «a little stiff» but is expected to play Wednesday against Toronto.

Luis Gil, 23, pitching in Triple A, was chosen by manager Boone to start Thursday’s game.

“Obviously the talent is there,” Boone told NJ.com on Tuesday. «When he showed up last year, he pitched well for us and we saw him pitch big games.»

In his first three major league starts in 2021 Gil did not allow runs, but he was less effective in three September outings: «We feel like he’s the guy to go to right now.»

Aaron Judge hit 10 home runs in the 2022 season

Aaron Judge is the first player to hit 10 homers this season. The home run leader had his first career homer to give his club the win.

«It’s a weird feeling because you hear the crowd freak out, you look at your bench and you see your guys jumping over the railing, just excited,» Judge told SNY.
