Ronald Acuña Jr. will have to show that he is healthy and that he can contribute to the defense of the Atlanta Braves title in 2022. The outfielder remains in a strict rehabilitation process in his native Venezuela, to reach the MLB training grounds.
Several Venezuelan media, including El Fildeo, reported Acuña Jr.’s batting practice at the Antonio Herrera Gutiérrez stadium in Barquisimeto, home of the Cardenales de Lara in the LVBP.
Acuña Jr. underwent cruciate ligament surgery, an injury that was difficult to recover from. Before getting hurt, the Venezuelan was having a fantastic season, hitting .283 batting average, 24 homers and 54 RBIs in 82 meetings with the reigning MLB champions.
