VIDEO: Juan Yépez hits the first home run of his career at Busch Stadium

Juan Yépez lives a dream debut in the Major Leagues and thus has ratified being the 6th prospect in the organization of the San Luis Cardinals. The Venezuelan hit his first home run of the season at Busch Stadium on Wednesday, in the clash against the Baltimore Orioles.

The 24-year-old first baseman has been a sensation since his MLB debut last week. In total he has a .478 average, with 2 home runs and 4 RBIs in the period.

A native of Caracas, he is known for his power and ability to hit all areas of the field, in what was a prestigious minor league career.

Last Sunday, during Mother’s Day, the Venezuelan also hit a home run. «I just try to hit the ball hard. As I was running the base I was just thinking that I wasn’t going to be out and then the ball went over the fence. It was an incredible thrill, getting into the dugout was incredible. I spent eight years playing in the minor leagues and I couldn’t spending Mother’s Day with my mom, but now being in the big leagues and hitting a home run on that day is something special,» Yepez told
