The trade package the Yankees could deliver for Wily Peralta

In the midst of the nightmare that the Detroit Tigers are experiencing this MLB season, the performance of right-hander Wily Peralta has been one of the good news for the team.

Since being called up to the Majors from Triple-A a few weeks ago, the 32-year-old right-hander has put up good numbers.

In 8 games (including one start) that he has played this season, Peralta is 0-0 with a 0.71 ERA, one save and 14 strikeouts in 12 2/3 innings.

Detroit has the second worst record in the majors at 9-23 and everything indicates that several pieces will be shed in the middle of the season. Peralta may be one of the guys getting the most attention from teams looking for bullpen arms for the postseason.

One of them could be the New York Yankees, who can assume the 2.5 million contract that the pitcher agreed to and who would also have the peace of mind of not delivering top prospects in exchange for the Dominican.

Pitching promises like JP Sears or Ken Waldichuk himself, who are close to reaching their development to play in the majors, may interest the Tigers’ management in an eventual negotiation with New York.
