Ronald Acuña Jr. continues with discomfort in the groin and will undergo evaluations

Atlanta Braves star outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. will not play Saturday against the San Diego Padres because of a persistent groin problem that has kept him out of his team’s last three games.

The Venezuelan had said on Friday that he planned to return to the lineup today, but that will not happen. Manager Brian Snitker said Acuña Jr. will undergo several evaluations to determine the true extent of the injury.

Of course, those results are what will determine whether the star player should go on the disabled list.

Acuña (groin) will have an MRI today.
