Roma puts Europe at risk and Venezia goes down

Roma was unable to win the bottom team Venezia (1-1) in the Olympics, which consummated its relegation to Serie B despite obtaining a draw that complicates the European aspirations of Jose Mourinho’s team, on the penultimate day of the Italian competition.

Roma has gotten into a mess. They only managed to equalize against Venezia and although they are sixth, in the Europa League, they could be left out if they are surpassed by Fiorentina, seventh to visit Sampdoria, and Atalanta, eighth to go to Milan, in their respective matches of the Sunday of the thirty-seventh date. Only one point separates the Roman box from both teams.

Everything was against Mourinho’s team at first. He conceded the goal in the first minute, when a good cross from Mattia Aramu was used by Nigerian David Ikereke to beat Rui Patricio.

Venezia, who needed to win and hope that the results were favorable, were left with ten after half an hour due to the expulsion of Sofian Kiyine. Even so, Roma failed to score until the final stretch, the 76th minute, through the Uzbek Eldor Shomurodov.

Roma is sixth with 60 points. One more than Fiorentina and Atalanta who still have to play their matches of the day.
