Reds signed Venezuelan Juniel Querecuto to a minor league contract

The Cincinnati Reds signed Juniel Querecuto to a minor league contract, the organization reported on its social media.

Querecuto came to the MLB in 2016 with the Rays, playing in four games for the Florida team. He was with Arizona’s Triple-A affiliate last season.

In his 11 at-bats in the majors, he hit one hit, drove in two runs and scored one run. Now he will be looking to earn a spot on the National League team’s roster heading into the 2022 regular season, which could be delayed due to the work stoppage.
