Pacers lose TJ McConnell indefinitely

Indiana Pacers player TJ McConnell will be out for «a while» with a right wrist injury. The news has been shared by technician Rick Carlisle, according to journalist Scott Agness.

For now, no timetable for his return or a formal diagnosis of his health status has been announced. The team is still assessing the extent of the injury and will likely issue a more detailed update in the coming days, Agness deepens.

McConnell has emerged as an important piece of the Pacers’ rotation, as demonstrated by the four-year renewal agreed to in early August. The point guard has participated in the 23 games played by the team at the start of the season, starting six of them. His averages rise to 8.7 points and 5.0 assists in 24.2 minutes.

McConnell’s absence should open the door for Brad Wanamaker to take on a bigger role. Other pieces less related to this position such as Chris Duarte or Caris LeVert could also assume some weight.
