Nikola Jokic picks up his second MVP on horseback!

It’s official. The player of the Denver Nuggets, Nikola Jokic, has been crowned as MVP of the 2021-22 regular season, being the second consecutive award for him, and incidentally making history in the competition.

We all know the peculiarities of the Serbian center, a player far removed from the NBA media spotlight, and who has collected the award in his native Sombor wearing a helmet, in shorts and riding a horse and cart! Almost nothing.

Jokic has closed his last regular season with an impressive 27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game. He has also become the first player in league history with 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 500 assists in one season.

Likewise, he is the second international player to win the MVP two years in a row after Giannis Atentokounmpo, of the Milwaukee Bucks; and the fourth active to achieve it after LeBron James, Stephen Curry and the aforementioned Greek.

How will you celebrate this milestone? Well, in a very simple way, as he himself has recognized the Nuggets: «Probably with some music, beer, friends and family. Like it’s supposed to be done.»

At the party, in addition to his family and friends, his head coach Michael Malone has also attended, giving him his full support.
