Miami Marlins general manager Kim Ng told MLB Network’s Jon Heyman a couple of weeks ago that the team will focus on improving offense heading into the 2022 season and outfields appear to be the priority.
Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald announced that the Marlins will try to acquire two outfielders in the free agency market or via trade. Jesús Sánchez would be the only outfielder on the current roster who would have a guaranteed starting job in 2022.
Miami made it to the postseason in 2020 but it was in a 60-game campaign. Now that the competition has returned to its original 162-game format, the offensive problems became very apparent, so the organization’s high command will look for higher impact bats that help complement the good pitching they have.
