New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge is the first player to hit 10 home runs in the 2022 MLB season.

The Major League home run leader experienced a special moment, as his shot is the first home run he connects in his career to give his club the victory.

“It’s a weird feeling because you hear the crowd go wild, you look at your bench and you see your guys jumping over the railing, just excited,” Judge told SNY. “It’s a special moment that I get to share with them. I’m just trying to do my job.»

Boston Red Sox left-handed reliever Josh Taylor has struggled to recover from a back injury he entered spring training with.

“We have to discuss where we are with him in terms of baseball activities, treatment and all of that,” Red Sox manager Alex Cora told MLB. «He is improving, but not at the rate we expected.»

The second no hitter of the season went to Reid Detmers

Los Angeles Angels left-hander Reid Detmers threw a no-hitter Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Rays at Angel Stadium in Anaheim.

Detmers, the Angels’ first-round pick in 2020, was making only his 11th major league start. He hadn’t pitched more than 6 innings since he was playing in college.

Bob Melvin will not manage the Padres due to surgery

San Diego Padres manager Bob Melvin will have prostate surgery today, but expects to miss only part of the team’s cap.

Melvin said he doesn’t think he has cancer, «but they won’t know until they get in there.»
