Hansi Flick, the Germany coach, only introduces one change in the decisive match against Costa Rica regarding the starting lineup against Spain. The inclusion of Leroy Sané, who returns to the starting eleven, in midfield in place of defender Thilo Kehrer means that Joshua Kimmich leaves his midfield position and takes over at right-back.
Germany needs the victory to continue in the World Cup and for Spain not to lose to Japan.
Costa Rica will come out with three novelties in the starting eleven, one in each line. The ‘Tico’ coach, Luis Fernando Suárez, bets on Juan Pablo Vargas in the defense of five, in the position of the suspended Francisco Calvo, while in the center from the field Brandon Aguilera enters for Gerson Torres and Johan Venegas will be up front in attack instead of Anthony Contreras.
The rest of the team is the same one that jumped in the victory (0-1) against Japan, which allows Costa Rica to have qualifying options.
