Jon Gruden resigns as Raiders coach amid scandal over offensive messages

Las Vegas Raiders head coach Jon Gruden announced his resignation from the position he had held since the 2020 season, according to a report from NFL Network journalist Tom Pelissero.

The 58-year-old man’s decision comes at a time when he is immersed in a strong controversy over the leak of a series of emails, in which he expresses racist, homophobic and misogynistic comments.

This scandal takes Gruden out of professional football, after registering a record as a coach of 117 wins and 112 losses, after 15 seasons in the NFL.

Complex situation for a team from Las Vegas that is currently in second place in the AFC West Division, with a record of three wins and two losses.
