Former Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry will sign with the New Orleans Saints, the player himself announced Friday on his Twitter account.
The deal will be for one season which will allow Landry, who is from Louisiana, to play for his hometown team.
The five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver sparked the interest of multiple teams after the Browns released him earlier this offseason. According to rumors, the Baltimore Ravens were closely following Landry and the player also apparently turned down an offer to return to the Browns.

New Orleans has focused on beefing up its receiving corps after struggling in the passing game last season. They selected former Ohio State star Chris Olave 11th overall in this year’s draft. Michael Thomas is also set to return in 2022 after missing all of last season with an ankle injury.

The Saints did not have a single wide receiver exceed 700 yards in the 2021-22 season, in which they finished with a record of 9 wins and 8 losses.
