Ja Morant aims to miss the rest of the playoffs

It hasn’t been definitively announced, but it has been dropped that Ja Morant is out for Game 5 against Golden State. Memphis has reported that the MRI performed on Ja Morant has revealed a bone bruise on his right knee, which makes him a doubt for the remainder of the playoffs if the Grizzlies continue to advance. In other words, the injury he has is not a matter of a couple of days, much less hours.

The reality, except for surprise that touches the miracle, is that the base will not play this next morning with elimination threatening the Tennessee. Trailing 3-1 in the series to the Warriors, Game 5, which takes place at FedEXForum, could be the last of the season for the Grizzlies.

Returning to the injury, in Memphis they believe that the damage occurred in the already famous action with Jordan Poole, in which the Golden State player grabbed his rival’s knee. He assured that in no case did he want to injure Morant, but the result is that we might not see him again until the 2022-23 academic year, by which time he would be fully recovered.

Wanting to win the Warriors without Morant seems very difficult. Sure, they were close in Game 4, but maybe that was Memphis’ chance. According to ESPN Stats, the Grizzlies point guard leads the playoffs in clutch points with a total of 42. Additionally, he was averaging 38.3 points, 8.3 assists and 6.7 rebounds in this second round. It seems like too many obstacles to overcome.

“We had an opportunity. We had the advantage. Then we just lost it; You know what I mean? You saw how it was. If we had just made a couple of shots it would have been a different story, especially late in the game. We have to finish safely. We’re going to bring some of that to Game 5,» says Jaren Jackson Jr..
