Ilie Sánchez, new reinforcement of Los Angeles FC

Ilie Sanchez, a 31-year-old Spanish midfielder, is the brand new addition of Los Angeles F.C. (LAFC) for the season of the mls what’s next.

Sánchez, who arrives at the black and gold franchise as a free agent, signed a two-year contract that includes an option until 2024, according to the site.

Sánchez arrives at LAFC from Sporting Kansas City, where he played five seasons and totaled 144 appearances in the MLS (134 as a starter). The Spanish footballer left the team having scored 11 goals and provided 13 assists in all competitions.

Before his landing in the MLS, Sánchez wore the jersey of the reserve team of the FC Barcelona, the Barcelona B, registering 114 appearances between 2009 and 2014.

With the arrival of the Spanish soccer player, LAFC adds experience to a squad that will have Steve Cherundolo as a new coach, and that he will seek to leave a better image before his fans after being absent in the 2021 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs.

Cherundolo, a former United States soccer player, took over as manager at LAFC following the departure of Bob Bradley to Toronto FC.
