Gianluigi Donnarumma assured today, in declarations to the France Press agency, that he cannot imagine alternating the ownership in the PSG goal with Keylor Navas, who days ago was also upset with this situation.
“I don’t think it will continue like this, because I think the club will make decisions”, explained ‘Gigio’. “I have a very good relationship with Keylor, we are two good guys, we understand the situation, but it was hard, and for him too. Let’s say that we handled it well, with the whole group and especially between the two of us», added the Italian goalkeeper while expressing his desire to continue at PSG.
Keylor, I agree.
Keylor Navas also admitted on April 20 on Canal+, after the PSG-Angers match in Ligue 1, that the «situation» was «complicated.»
«I have a very good relationship with ‘Gigio’, but I want to play all the games,» Navas explained then. «I am happy in Paris, but that has to change.»
PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino has alternated between the two goalkeepers throughout the season without establishing a clear hierarchy.
«Surely there will be another management next year,» explained Pochettino despite the fact that everything indicates that he will not continue at PSG. «The competition has been good, but the future will surely be written in other circumstances. It is clear that Keylor as ‘Gigio’ wants to play more».
Donnarumma, 23, arrived at PSG last summer, free of contract, from Milan, after winning the European Championship with Italy and being chosen as the best player of the tournament. He has a contract until 2026.
For his part, Keylor Navas, 35, arrived at PSG in 2019 from Real Madrid and has a contract until 2024.
