Bolivia beat Paraguay 4-0 on Thursday at the Hernando Siles stadium in La Paz, achieved its second consecutive victory and took air in the South American qualifying league for the final phase of the Qatar World Cup.
At 3,650 meters above sea level in La Paz, La Verde took the lead with Rodrigo Ramallo’s goal from outside the area in the 21st minute.
Sanabria misses a penalty
La Albirroja wasted the chance to equalize with a penalty that was missed six minutes later by Tonny Sanabria, whose shot went over the crossbar.
In the second period, La Verde made it 2-0 in the 53rd minute with a goal from Moisés Villarroel after an assist from Marcelo Martins.
Víctor Abrego put the final 3-0 in the 84th minute and on 95, when the match was over, Roberto Fernández sentenced.
Paraguay, which has added two games in a row without winning, is still parked in sixth place with 12 points in the standings, the same as Bolivia reached this Thursday with its third win in these qualifying rounds.
On the next day, on November 11, La Verde will visit Peru and La Albirroja will host Chile.
