Having accurate and truthful information about a disease is essential so that those who suffer from it can make decisions to receive the appropriate treatment.
On January 13, the Society to Fight Leukemia and Lymphoma (LLS), in collaboration with the Northwell Health Cancer Institute, will carry out a virtual education program in Spanish on “Blood cancers and nutritional advice for patients ”.
In the informative program, Dr. Jacqueline C. Barrientos, Dr. Carlos A. López and registered nutritional dietitian Luz E. Valencia-Penagos will participate as presenters, who will be in charge of ensuring that the participants understand and learn about the different diagnoses of cancer of the the blood, the terminologies used in the treatments of these cancers, as well as knowing the resources that are available through the LLS. Healthy nutrition and hydration tips will also be given to treat the symptoms and treatment of blood cancer.
