When will ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ be available on Disney+?

The Benedict Cumberbatch movie hit theaters on May 6 and you can still enjoy it on the big screen.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has just joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film starring Benedict Cumberbatch opens the doors to the multiverse wide and, precisely for that reason, fans were looking forward to it. It has been in theaters since May 6but, given that we live in the midst of streaming, you are probably already wondering when you will be able to watch -or revisit- the tape comfortably from home.

Although there is no official confirmation, Disney movies usually arrive on the VOD service about two months after their theatrical release. It is the conclusion reached after reviewing the latest releases of the company. Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings premiered on the big screen on September 2 and could be seen online from November 12. With Eternals it was something similar and, after being shown in theaters on November 5, viewers could enjoy it at home from January 12. It has also happened with Death on the Nile, the Fox tape that was released on February 18 and became part of the streaming catalog in April. Therefore, Doctor Strange 2 could be available on Disney + in early July.

Seeing the results it has obtained at the box office, it is clear that this is one of the premieres of the year. In its first weekend in theaters, it has managed to raise 450 million dollars worldwide, far exceeding all the films released throughout 2022. The one that until now had the title of the highest grossing of the year was The Batman , which made over $250 million at the box office. The Marvel tape has almost doubled. Of course, for now Robert Pattinson’s Bat Man film continues to be the highest grossing film of 2022 with 767 million dollars to his credit. It seems that Doctor Strange 2 will manage to surpass it, but it has yet to reach the number.

If we talk about Marvel, it has not managed to surpass the last great success of the franchise, Spider-Man: No Way Home. The third installment of Peter Parker’s trilogy featured something Stephen Strange can’t fight against: the three Spider-Men of Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire going toe-to-toe with villains.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, where the multiverse is completely turned upside down. Now the Marvel wizard must face a new and unexpected threat and will need help to prevent a great catastrophe. Joining him will be Benedict Wong, who returns as Sorcerer Supreme Wong, and Xochitl Gomez makes her MCU debut as America Chavez.
