Charged with an open mind and a lot of curiosity, explore any documentary, movie, series and miniseries that start to make noise.

The actor who gave life to Tyrion Lannister believes that the trick of the ‘spin-off’ to succeed is to forget about the original series.

2022 will be the year of the premiere of The House of the Dragon, the new series from the George RR Martin universe, and, although the comparison with Game of Thrones is inevitable, Peter Dinklage has a trick for its possible success: don’t imitate her. In a recent interview with The Independent, the actor has stated that the mistake of many sequels, ‘spin-offs’ and other derivative productions is that they are not made for an honest reason. They only develop to keep making money.

I think the trick is not trying to imitate ‘Game of Thrones’. If you try to imitate him, it seems that it is only for money. As it happens in many sequels, the reason for them is that the first one made money, so they are not as strong. But I’m excited to see ‘House of the Dragon’ just as a spectator, not knowing what happens next

If the creators of The House of the Dragon they try to make a product similar to what was Game of Thrones, it is possible that they will never achieve it and, in addition, they will have lost the opportunity to make a series with its own identity.

It is the same that Nikolaj Coster-Waldau said a few months ago, when he declared that they should create «their own series». «I hope the success of Game of Thrones don’t get in the way of people experiencing this new series,» said the actor who brought Jaime Lannister to life. Coster-Waldau remembers how it took several seasons to get off the ground and knows that The House of the Dragon you can’t afford that luxury. «They have to start where we were in season four or five, because they’re going to compare it to that.», he assures.

The House of the Dragon takes place more than 300 years before the events narrated in Game of Thrones. It focuses on the Targaryen empire. More specifically, in the Civil War known as Dance of Dragons, a hostile and complicated period for the famous house. Leading the cast are names like Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Matt Smith, Paddy Considine, Steve Toussaint and Rhys Ifans, among others. The good news is that it already has the blessing of George RR Martin, who assured that he loved the first episode: «It’s dark, powerful, visceral… just the way I like my epic fantasy».

The House of the Dragon will premiere in 2022 on HBO Max.
